One of my main projects at SolarWinds started out as a side project - I noticed that even though we were outputting great content, our final landing pages ended up sub par. I dug into the ion interactive cms and generated new responsive templates with presets established for SolarWinds branding. I also created training materials to train non-technical leads (sales and marketing) in customizing these foundations for multiple projects.
By the end of my time at SolarWinds, we were yielding higher click-through and download numbers from these new options compared to campaigns running with the old process.
SolarWinds was an interesting shift for me because it was my first time focused on a single brand for a company.
Here's a few of the major campaigns I worked on, typically including a landing page mock up (often sadly limited by the platform) as well as incidental banners, printables, etc.
• Thwack Awards
• Product Launch Cards
• SWUG rebranding
• New Icon System for SolarWinds.com
• Video team review process infographic poster

Wuji came to Volusion looking to refresh their website design, which had actually been done by our team a few years prior. We discussed their goals with the new website design and settled on focusing on cleaning up the content blocks to better promote their brand and social media outlets, and explain their product offerings and the health benefits they provide.
I tried to stick with the bright, energetic feel of the original design but open up the layout and seperate the content so the customer won't be overwhelmed by the available information.
My experiences at Volusion wouldn't have been complete without testing the platform fully from the merchant's point of view. I worked closely with an SEO expert friend and we settled on a drop shipping store for pet goods as the best cross-section of potential and our shared interests.
I worked on curating the product line and designed our website to promoted our active pet life brand.
Spartan POS was running successfully through Ebay and Amazon, and came to us ready to push their brand and curated product selection further with their own online presence.
Their main goal was to keep it simple and push their major categories effectively. I picked attractive visuals matching their content, and promoted their products as an option to streamline their customer's sales experiences.
Supplements are always popular in the eCommerce space, and I was glad to test my skills with a bold, powerful ascetic. I was able to work with Senior Design Manager Sarah Cottle, who did the homepage design (not pictured), while I provided the supplemental pages and responsive views to match the high bar her work sets.
iphone game, UI/UX design
Omegatech is an arcade style RPG mech combat iphone/ipod game where players pit their catbot against the dreaded Brambleclaw menace sweeping the galaxy.
I was privileged to be tasked with redesigning the main GUI for the Omegatech project after some initial user feedback from GDC. I also planned out the Upgrade system and organized the FX artists.
Monkey Gear is a puzzle platformer starring a monkey with a grappling hook arm. Players swipe and shoot their way through traps and enemies, collecting screws to unlock new abilities that improve their maneuverability.
Molecular Games tasked me with designing initial comps for their debut game.
Our papercraft hero must use Doctor Professor's new time machine to protect the present from potential future timelines This point and click adventure game is designed to teach kids the theories behind time travel via educational mini-games and an engaging story.
As a capstone project, I was able to explore every aspect of game design from strategy, to UI and character design, to writing and coding.

Epson approached Big Spaceship to devise an engaging interactive experience showcasing their wide range printers & translating the esoteric specs into feature elements relevant to the customer.
Ny role was primarily helping with Flash production as well as a number of the animations on the site. I also helped edit the footage we had of the scientist and masked him out of the green screen, and passed the footage on to the design lead.

During my first three months at Big Spaceship my team worked on a website for Corona, creating a site that brings across the mental images associated with Corona - hanging out at the beach.
I worked primarily on Flash production for the site, preparing pages for the developers to then work on. I also designed the Featured Artist page, and put in a number of the rollover and click animations.

Not every project is created equal - much of a designer's job is consistently knocking out smaller projects successfully.
